Where to get magnificent flying carpet recipe

Also, I'm pretty sure Aladdin never logged off the Agrabah server only to find himself falling to his doom when coming back. Not sure if its the same on horde side. Comment by Zraal You can mount up on those flying carpets while beeing in Dalaran. Tested it on the Runeweaver Square in the middle and right in front of the north bank.

There could be more places. You have 10sec to get out of Dalaran, leave the zone, or to dismount. Same as when flying into Dalaran. Comment by Koshica I've found this carpet useful for getting out of dalaran very fast after teleporting into it, as you can mount right on the grass and fly away. Comment by Koshica Anyone tested if you drop tailoring, can you still ride the carpet? Just in case tailoring doesn't get anything useful later. Comment by I don't know if it's already been mentioned but this carpet doesn't act as a typical mount, it is it's own entity and a.

Will drop you if you log off on it b. Shows up on your minimap as a party member c. Comment by I noticed today when flying around with my Paladin friend, that this carpet does not get help from crusader aura, although your character shows it as active in your buffs.

Must be a vehicle thing. Also, I've been using the dismount feature to jump myself into Meeting stones, and other places i'm not "supposed" to be. Haven't found any good locations to use it yet though. Comment by With this carpet you can complete your Mine sweeper achievement in area K3 in storm peaks. Mount up and fly to the minefield and land on the ground and just go over the bombs. You stay mounted, only take a little damage and you will get the achievement completed.

I just did it myself, which I am surprised it worked. So glad I tried this my first attempt rather then actually dismounting and trying to hit 10 mines without landing over and over. Comment by toastmaster This is seriously the most overpowered! Instead of whining about it though, I am literally abandoning leatherworking as a moonkin and lvling my tailoring to Both for the magic carpet and because there is no flipping spellpower in leatherworking.

Comment by i made this mount at level 77 and noticed what I can only presume is a bug, when I target and alliance player whilst mounted I am horde their name plate goes from red enemy to green friendly player. Comment by Here are all of the "unusual" properties I've seen regarding this mount. I will edit more as I come across them: Many effects that would normally dismount you against your will, causing you to fall, do not seem to harm the carpet. This includes flying mobs, those annoying Fel Cannon blasts, and even Captain Skyshatter himself!

Yes, thats right folks. When on this carpet you are invulnerable to their attacks. NPC's that normally "follow" you from the ground behave strangely when you are on the carpet. Note that this seems to only impact ones that count as "companions". Instead of following you like normal, the pet will "jerk" to your location, even in the air - seemingly flying alongside you instead of from the ground.

What this effectively means is that companion pets will ALWAYS stay with you regardless of how fast you fly or how high up when on the carpet ; You are allowed to mount up in areas where other flying mounts are not. You can assist in a summon while on the carpet. This includes meeting stones and other forms of summoning. Priests can keep levitate while on the carpet. Normally this is dispelled when you use a regular mount. Your character animation will act a little strange. On regular mounts, you are allowed to open containers in your bag.

You cannot open containers on the magic carpet. The very useful "auto dismount in flight" preference has no impact on the carpet. Mount "transformation" effects will not work on the carpet. That is, you will keep your carpet when you are doing the netherwing dailies. The carpet will disappear on logout.

This is certainly a problem if you log out high in the air. It seems you can no longer mount it in Dalaran proper, either. Comment by Since your kinda just standing on it, what would happen if you press the insert button and make a flip? Comment by Its being changed to work as a normal mount. Source: "This is slated to be changed in an upcoming patch not 3. All new mounts that currently function like vehicles will be changed to function like other standard mounts.

This includes the flying carpet. Comment by Maxlock one question, if i have a pet on the ground such as the bear or a those really cool fish guys in shalozar basin, where will they stand when i am mounted on the rug?

Use the item which drops the pedestal, mount on your carpet. Enjoy :. Comment by iLive Blizzard have said, that they will change all the issues with mounts, being like vehicles. Comment by Using this with Haunted Memento causes the ghost to constantly respawn and fall through the carpet.

Comment by chione I do this daily on my carpet. I don't have to dismount to pick up the pups :D Also, kidnapping babies on my magic carpet is hilarous. Comment by I have been thinking of dropping tailoring, I already made my carpet and have used the item so it is in my mounts tab now. If I drop tailoring can I still use the mount? Also if I cannot use it then will it at least stay in my tab and count towards my mount collection achievement?

Comment by mdfrancois So, confirmed you can get on the Blizzcon bear mount. You can then also get into your Blizzcon Murloc costume. It also appears that while in Runeweaver square, you can fly as much as you want without getting dismounted. So, you can fly pretty high up, and get a good view of all the city, on your bear, as a Murloc. You can also call out your Blizzcon pet, Murky, beforehand.

He glitches, though, and is constantly falling from the carpet. Comment by I wish they would put a carpet into the game that worked like the Traveler's mammoth, except you could only allow one other passenger.

The npc placeholder would be a small monkey named uba, or something like abu. The tool-tip could say "every moment red-letter! Comment by This is not as good as I had hoped.

The delay when dismounting makes it a disadvantage while grinding and you can't use a cast to dismount competing for mobs for dailies etc.

I have gone back to my old griffin. Comment by Blaklader As of january 21st , this is indeed a mount instead of a vehicle. Which means all shadowpriests using one of these will ride on a rather.. Comment by After today's patch my tauren's hooves are sticking through the bottom of the carpet, instead of hovering just slightly above the top as they did before the patch. Is this happening on any other race?

Comment by scyap Engineers can make a motorcycle. Comment by As of 3. They are also affected by mount speed enhancers properly, such as a paladin's crusader aura. This also means that there is no extra time on the dismount. Although you can get an amusing swimming animation if you dismount midair while moving. It also allows you to log out while on the carpet and not have to fear falling to your death on loggin Only the Flying Carpet and Magnificent Flying Carpet are available.

The various 'flavors' are not yet available in game. Comment by Lhivera So whenever I see somebody flying one of these, they do not appear to be standing as in the screenshots shown here -- instead, they're sitting in a normal mount position, with their legs and feet dangling through the carpet.

Anyone else seeing this? Is it due to the change to make it a mount instead of a vehicle? Comment by can i make it then learn and drop tailoring and still be able to use it? Comment by How do people sit on these. Comment by Toldry Notice that this carpet requiers 4 Monarch Topazes Glowing Orange Gems , and that the carpet itself has 4 glowing gems hanging on it's corners. Nicely thought of.

Comment by aoeu I just wish the pillow would stop smiling at me. It's creeping me out. Comment by Or you could be both an Engineer and a Tailor and have the best of both worlds. It's costly, but I finally got them both. Comment by Rhothran So I just went through the whole process, installed the PTR and copied my character over and everything to find out, found another played to ask them what it looked like, and yes, confirmed, working properly on the test realm.

Comment by Bobaloo "This is a very fast rug. Comment by you can also have your wepons out while on the carpet, i dunno if it works for all races tho. Comment by This looks cool when you go in to Brunnhildar Village I'll add screenshot. Comment by is it me or do the carpets not flutter as much anymore? Comment by danroe Something weird happens with this. In the netherwing island, when you are transformed into Fel Orc, your mount gets replaced by the Netherdrake.

But your carpet doesn't. It stands as another mount. So you have 2 mounts at same time. You will stay "On your feet" like you would on the carpet, but on the Netherdrake's chair!

And if you right-click the carpet Flying Orc! Comment by sokercap Most of these comments are outdated since this mount functions like a regular mount now, not a vehicle. There however still an issue. First, I have this on my dk so I don't know how if that affects it. When I'm on my mount it looks like I'm surfing on the carpet, to others though it apparently shows up as if I was sitting and my butt hangs out.

Pretty lame. Second, this is the only mount I have that lets me switch to another mount while in the air. I have the bronze drake and winged steed and can switch to either in midflight.

This also has the side effect of not removing this mount as currently in use, thereby giving you two mount buffs. If I right click the carpet it will switch to the winged steed and look like I'm surfing on it. If I right click the carpet while at ground level, the winged steed glitches and disappears. It then looks like you are swimming through the air and is pretty awesome.

Unfortunately this is a client only glitch, so to others it looks like you are mounted as usual. Comment by I'm wondering, the summon carpet spell will still exist or not if I unlearned Tailor profession.

This is a very fast rug. Can only be used in Outland and Northrend. Requires skill in tailoring to ride. Comment by I realize that if you learn this and drop tailoring you can't ride it, but will it count towards the achievement Mountain O' Mounts?

Comment by I was wondering if anyone knew If you make the carpet and you decide to get rid of tailoring, can you still fly it? Comment by trondus I made this baby just now, AMAZING, luv it luv it luv it, but how come that this carpet, only takes like g to make, while the engineers mounts, thinking of Copters and chopper, takes many thousands!

Comment by azzk1cker Can you still ride this mount when you unlearn tailoring? Comment by The rug really tied the skies together. Comment by apparently one of the patches fixed the issue with other people looking like they are sitting through the rug.

I have seen others riding theirs and they are standing. Can anyone confirm or deny. Comment by Don't know if this was commented already there's comments and im not reading all of them but Your character will stand as if it was on stealth mode. Comment by When are the carpets like spellfire shadoweave and moonclock coming live? Comment by I believe it has to act as a vehicle to show your character in the nonstandard standing position.

Regular mounts all have you seated in the same way, with the same animation. The Wowhead Client is a little application we use to keep our database up to date, and to provide you with some nifty extra functionality on the website! You can also use it to keep track of your completed quests, recipes, mounts, companion pets, and titles! This site makes extensive use of JavaScript. Please enable JavaScript in your browser. Live PTR. Classic TBC. Quick Facts. Comment by This is the bomb.

Now I am glad I am a tailor Comment by quite bugged at the moment. Comment by Does anyone know how to obtain the recipe? Comment by Zurum do you have to be a tailer to ride these? Comment by Don't log out while flying on your carpet. When you log in you will be dismounted and fall to your death.

Happy Flying! Comment by can this carry more than one passenger? Comment by Surprised nobody mentioned the nod to Disney's Aladdin. If you mouseover the buff it says "Don't you dare close your eyes. Comment by Lhivera Why is it that when I see people riding these things around, the character is sitting with his legs dangling through the carpet, rather than standing like in the screenshots here on Wowhead?

Comment by Stuffsticks I have been getting comments ingame about why i appear in my carpet.. Comment by iranou I reckon that the four Monarch Topaz used to create this appear as the glowing "tassels" in the four corners - can anyone confirm this? Whether or not this is the case, nice touch Blizz!

Comment by sokercap I just found a neat glitch with this.. I'm a dk so I have the winged steed mount as well. Anyway, I used my carpet and it put me in the surfing type position on it, which is normal. I switched back to my winged steed.. Basically you 'swim' through the air at epic speeds lol. The regular carpet does the surfing effect. Comment by Dont forget to wipe off your feet before you dismount in dalaran Lol this is the most ridiculous mount ever you know the idea was thought up between two stoned blizz developers.

Comment by Dandy This recipe can be learned at tailoring skill - even though the top of the page says
